Community Life Groups

As human beings, there is something deep in our souls that desires to connect with others ... a need to belong. We look for opportunities to walk with people in times of joy, sorrow, and in the everyday moments. Here at Northwest Church, we encourage people to join Community Life Groups as a way to connect with others, build relationships, and walk with one another as we learn to love God and understand how much God loves us.
Our mission is to promote discipleship through relational environments. God has called us out of our culture to be a distinct community of faith. It is in community life groups that we can share our lives as well as our journey of faith. Community Life Groups can be formed around a life-stage (Mom's Group, PrimeTimers), an activity (Volleyball), or a particular ministry or project.  Look around to see what's available and what might a good fit for you.

"Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function,
so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.”

- Romans 12:4-5 (New Living Translation)

“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

- Hebrews 10:24-25 (New Living Translation)

“For where two or three gather together because they are mine, I will be right there among them.”

- Matthew 18:20 (Living Bible)

Life Groups

These are traditional small groups that meet in a person’s home or at the church for Bible study, along with food, fellowship and acts of service.

Affinity Groups

These groups are made up of people who share a common lifestage or theme. Examples of Affinity Groups are Moms' Group and Prime Timers.

Activity Groups

Activity Groups are comprised of people who regularly share an activity together. One example is our weekly NWC Volleyball Group.

Coffee Groups

These are made up of people who want to study a certain book or engage in faith-related discussions over a good cup of coffee.

Ministry Groups

Groups formed for a specific ministry task that allows relationships to continue to grow. These might be short or long-term duration (Example: ESL Teachers).

Covenant Groups

These groups are joined by invitation only. They are created out of some need or desire by the leader for special connections and are temporary in nature.

What's in it for you?

Why join a Community Life Group? The answer for you will be as unique as you are. In general, many Christ-followers have found that community life groups are a great way to develop deeper relationships with Jesus and with one another. There is something authentic, genuine, and compelling about sharing life’s experiences together.

Bible Study Re-Imagined

Many of our Community Life Groups are working through the Immerse Series. It starts with a new kind of Bible. Using all of the latest research on typography and page design, Tyndale House Publishers created a Bible with one goal in mind: to provide the best reading experience possible.

Immerse: The Reading Bible restores the Bible’s text to its natural literary form: stories look like stories, songs look like songs, and poetry looks like poetry. Rather than traditional chapters and verses, each book is formatted based on the natural literary structures the authors incorporated when the books were first composed.

It’s not a Bible study. It’s ultimately an invitation to a vibrant, transformative relationship with God and with each other through His Word.
