Michael Clark Message/Update, June 2022
Email message to Lead Pastor, Chris Goldman, on June 4, 2022. Michael granted permission to share this as a brief personal update with the Missions Team and NWChurch in general.
Hi Chris,
How are you doing, brother? Hopefully this has been a fruitful season at Northwest and in your family. It was so good to hear about the event that NW church hosted recently for the newly arrived Afghans in the area. I think you were able to meet my parents, Bill and Julie Clark.
We have been here 4 months so far and are still settling in. We are so thankful for ways the Lord has provided so far. We love our apartment. The boys are settling in amazingly at their new school. We are slowly making friends in the city. Turkish Language learning has been a lot harder than we expected but we are moving forward, albeit slowly. In addition, we have made some kingdom connections with Afghans in the city since we have moved here. One of these connection has been with a young Afghan believing sister, who has been living with us part time and part time with another family.
Our Turkish course ends this week and the boys finish school next week and we are heading into the hot season. We are planning to continue with language throughout the summer, studying on our own and practicing on the street and with neighbors as much as we can. Then we will jump into either another class or a tutor situation in the fall. We are praying about visiting Analia’s twin sister and her team who are reaching out to Afghans in Tajikistan in August and then at the end of the month we have a conference with our organization.
Many blessings on you and the body at NW church.
Michael and Analia
