Snohomish County Health officials have now requested that gatherings of 50 or more be avoided while data is gathered regarding the coronavirus and its greater impact. More than a million tests will be administered this week and give health officials a better picture of what we're dealing with.
The staff has been in touch with the elders today and this evening, seeking to make a wise decision in this regard.
Based on this request, NW joins most of our neighboring congregations, and are formally canceling services and activities this Sunday. Here are some bullet points:- All Sunday activities at the Community Life Center are canceled for March 8th.
- Sunday Evening GROUPS, Thursday Morning ROOTED GROUP, and Tuesday evening's Purim are all canceled.
- Prime-Timers is also canceled this week.
- A special sermon will be streamed from the CLC on Facebook tomorrow morning at 10:30 and we encourage you to watch. If you don't have Facebook, an invitation to utilize Go To Meeting is available below for the first 100 people who log on.
- During the week, we will be posting regular updates, communications, etc. as we work to react without over-reacting.
In the meantime, I want to encourage our high-risk groups to heed the advice of our health officials.
